Just yesterday, after seeing the news of the release of Debian 11 ("bullseye"), I read (yet again) the Wikipedia page on Ian Murdock and the origins of Debian, its release history and its usage as the base for other Linux distributions. Debian has had a few problems (like some maintainers stepping down), but the name still has a strong recognition on what it means to be FOSS.
Here's to many more decades, Debian! May you continue to inspire more people and create more downstream effects!
