YIsrael, Once the Model for Beating Covid, Faces New Surge of Infections

Can someone break down this paragraph for me? My reading comprehension is good, but I'm worried I may be reading into this too much:

"The vaccine is still believed to help prevent severe illness in those who do become infected, though some Israeli data suggests the possibility of an increased risk of severe disease among those who received early vaccinations. The number of deaths in Israel has climbed in the past month as the infection rate increased."

Are they subtly broaching the subject of Antibody Dependant Enhancement? Does this paragraph signal that ADE is no longer a conspiracy theory to be out down and instead is now a serious subject worth considering?

The "early vaccinations" and "increased risk of severe disease" in the samesentence is highly concerning, although it lacks a true context.

It sounds to me like they're saying that if you got vaccinated early on, the vaccine may be less effective at this point so you have an increased risk of severe disease. Most likely they are comparing with recently vaccinated people.

Sometimes I am trollish, and I certainly have my opinions about Covid, and our lack of understanding and foresight about the future effectiveness of things in the Covid war.

That is why I watch Israel closely. They seem to be on the forefront of where the rest of the world is heading. I see them as the most apolitical and goal oriented nation on the planet right now for Covid.

On the one hand, it gives me hope, their minor successes. On the other hand, it tells me there is a war coming to the West this fall because vaccines are incapable of doing what politicians put their eggs in the basket to do.

They got vaxxed early and often, and whatever happens there will happen to the rest of the world next.

And they are expecting 4800 hospitalizations in a population half the size of Florida.

So yeah, all eyes on.

Reminds me of South Korea too. The tables have turned and they're still struggling to get vaccines. The earliest they'll have a domestic vaccine en-masse will be in 2022. Meanwhile, the US is flush with vaccines.

Why "YIsrael" as the actual NYT title is "Israel"?
